Victoria wrote My husband (PWP) just had an IVP. No problem with the dye other than a few sneezes and hives on his neck that shortly diesappeared. Also, he felt very hot for a few minutes after injection of solution. Was told these were minor side-effects that anyone could experience. Whoa. Hives following an IVP are never considered a minor side effect. Your husband may have an allergy to iodine dye - that means *every time* he has an x-ray that requires dye *you must report the symptoms he has just experienced.* His first reaction to the dye may be minor, but succeeding reactions could prove far more serious.
