I have had a handicap permit for approximately 3 years. When I first got
it, I got the hang tag.
My sister, who lives in Iowa, said that she had found out that she could
get both a hang tag
and a handicap license plate. So, I checked with the officials here in
Missouri, and found that
I could also get a handicap license plate and also keep my hang tag. So,
that is what I did.

I have not had to renew my drivers license since I got my permit, but it is
due in May of this year,
so I guess I will find out. However, I know many people here who have
handicap permits and have been
driving with the handicap tag for years. So, I don't anticipate any
problems.

In Missouri, we renew our handicap permits every year, even though the Dr.
filled out my form for a
permanent permit. It costs $2.00 a year. This past year, everyone had to
have a new form filled
out by their Dr. I'm not sure how often that is required.

If you have any more questions, just let me know.

Hi Everyone! Happy New Year. Does anyone know if applying for handicap
parking permits in anyway could result in losing your drivers license?
Does it vary from state to state? I live in Michigan. Thanks for any info
anyone can provide.
