Elizabeth....

When I first started taking Sinemet I was very nauseous, however that =
DID clear up after some time had passed (months-time, not =
weeks-or-days-time) <err...sorry, I know that's not whatcha wanna hear!>

A VERY Parkie-savvy friend who was also a strong advocate for the use of =
"natural" products suggested I try taking the Sinemet with GINGER ALE as =
ginger is apparently a natural anti-nauseant AND is also some kind of =
seratonin-enhancer, too (Ooops! I'm getting out of my league here).

The Ginger Ale did the trick for me, and after several months of taking =
Sinemet with Ginger Ale daily, I found I could take it with anything, =
and no longer got nauseous.

That was about 17 years ago, and NOW I betcha if I hadda blood test. the =
ONLY thing that'd show up in my veins is pure Sinemet! (or perhaps =
pizza?) <giggle>

Subject: Sinemet

Happy New Year everyone. I have been going along for about a year =
just taking 1200 ius a day, but today my Doctor put me on sinemet =
because I am progressing with my symptoms. I take 1 tab at 7:00 a.m. =
and 1 at 4:00 p.m.. It is slow acting. I had one yesterday afternoon =
and could hardly eat dinner my stomach was so upset and the same thing =
happened this morning. The prescription printout said side effects may =
go away. Has anyone had problems with sinemet and if so do they finally =
go away and if so how long did it take? Another thing I feel is a =
stiffening sensation around my mouth.=20
I would appreciate any answer. I do want to give it a chance.=20
    Thank you=20
    Elizabeth 68/2=20
