In a recent publication from the NPF called "Parkinson's Disease: Speaking Out", mention is made of (and I quote) "a relatively new augmentative communication system on the market called the SPEECH ENHANCER (TM). This system not only amplifies the voice, but improves speech clarity through a filtering system. It has received positive reviews and can be beneficial for individuals with poor speech intelligibility due to severe dystarthria that has not improved with therapy. A significant drawback of this device is that it is cost-prohibitive for many people." Can anyone tell me where I could find out more about this device? Has anyone on the List used one? And finally is there a specialist one-stop-shop in the USA where one can go to be assessed, then look at a range of equipment to enhance speech and communication. I am thinking of a place which caters for neurological speech difficulities in particular? Sincerely JOY Graham
