Rick and list I have not read recent literature on 5HTP but I am almost sure it is a precursor of seratonin. Theoretically it should work but I don't believe research has born that out. Unless your MD recommends taking it I would suggest dosage change of the Paxil or change to another antidepressant. This should be under the care of an MD preferably a psychiatrist who is well-versed in PD. Unfortunately antidepressants sometimes lose their effectiveness over time and dosage adjustments and med changes are necessary.
