Hi,
I am Whitey Richerson, I am 70 years old and have been diagnosed
with Parkinsons. I have just recently started taking sinemet. I am also
on Mirapex and Propranolol.One of my biggest problems is that no one has
ever explained to me what this disease is and what I can expect from it.
I have some other health problems, also, so when a new sympton appears I
don't know if it is related to PD, to the meds, or to something
unrelated. Lately my sleeping habits are strange, and I get depressed a
lot. I also get frightened very easily. This is something that never
happened before. A sudden noise can startle me and I will be upset for a
long time afterwords. Or if I get a strange letter in my e-mail I get
paranoid and think someone is trying to get me. I would like to know if
these things are normal. I am more concerned about my mental state than
my physical problems. I was hoping that finding a support group with
people that could understand would help me. I have a caring wife and our
kids and grand kids live close by, but I don't think they really
understand.
My wife is writing this first letter for me, as I type very slow
now, but in future I will write my own, and hope you will be patient.
