Dear Barbara: Thank you for your welcome and as you requested, I am sending thisletter of introduction to your members. This is my first experience in dealing with Parkinson through the internet & I am also a novice with the computer so l wouldn't bet on you receiving this message or on me finding this site again. I was diagnosed with PD in 1988 and consider myself one of the fortunate ones. To date, I have no major limitations and still lead a full and active life. (with two teenaged daughters, I have little choice) For the first 5 years, the only medication I took was nova-selegiline. After 5 years, sinimet was added & last summer, mirapex. I am lucky because it seems that I can take medications without serious side effects although I admit I do not like taking pills in any form unless necessary. I don't know how much information you would like so I'll close for now however, I would just like to raise one point. I do not seem to experience the cycles that many others do and I have even skipped medication for 24 hours with no obvious effects (I know this is not advisable and I am not suggesting anyone try this) I wonder if anyone else has had similar experiences? Good luck with your efforts to help those affected by PD Be well, Lance
