Hi All and Greetings from Newcastle-u-Lyme, Staffordshire, UK.
Currently wet and windy, with no snow left after the weekends fall.
Name Clinton (no relation) and carer is Mary.
Just joined the list and will share what I know...and that's little =
enough.
First....am a little daunted by the size of the list...is there a digest =
form? =20
Here don't drink (26 years) or smoke (17 years), but do enjoy other =
sins. Am diabetic, so candy is out..also have high BP.
Hobbies Ham Radio (46 years), grand daddying, computing, watercolour =
painting and etc. Driving our Fiat Punto is also a pleasure...but =
feel that is in some doubt.
Now the serious bit...Was diagnosed PD on 30th November,1998..so am a =
new boy. Am a good looking 63, with slight care worn appearance =
caused by working as Social Worker in Child Protection! Now retired =
and am kept by
wife, also 63, who is a nurse...same job, same ward, same hospital for =
27 years!
...Maternity...so not much use there unless PD care includes "pushing =
hard" or
breastfeeding!
Went to doctor with tremor in left side hand/arm/leg. He referred me =
to neurologist (Dr C Hawkins). Consultant neurologist has prescribed =
ropinirole at 1mg twice daily. Side effects so far are vomiting, =
nausea, sleepyness(morning dose), loss of energy and zest, yawning a lot =
and leg pain( right knee). Good news is that shaking much reduced =
(very welcome).
Would appreciate any experience on ropinirole use (on its own) such as =
dosage, frequency, side effects, how long can I stay off sinamet?, do =
things get better and so on. Am I asking for the moon?
