Perhaps we need a bit more information about the workings of the site John C. has set up to house the contents of the listserve. Do all the messages stay on the list forever or do they "time out" and disappear at a certain volume level? Example: My brother recently introduced me to an industry specific site when we were looking for a contractor to remodel a bathroom in my house. He posted a message there for me asking for advice. The bulletin board is set up so that the oldest messages age off. The speed with which they age is dependent on the number of new messages being posted. My request timed out after about 4 days, and this was over the New Year's weekend, when many of the posters were on vacation. While this type of arrangement for out list would not protect our immediate privacy, it would, at least, keep our notes from living forever in a more public venue. Given the volume of our list, some messages might only live for a couple of days. John, if you're listening, have you set up your site like a bulletin board with a timing feature?
