Hilary,
Your participation, and the treatment of Parkinson's by PBS was terrific
. Thanks a million. Following is an excerpt of a letter sent to PBS.

"In further thinking about the program presented last night, it occurs
to us that Hilary Blue may not be able to play football with her
children, but she can certainly impart to them values that will matter
to them all their lives. The social service (the name appears to be an
oxymoron) agencies did a great injustice to her, and to her children by
removing them from her, and therefore their home. The money and hours
spent by bureaucratic agencies depriving Hilary Blue and her children,
and others who haven't received this publicity, of the support systems
they have developed to accommodate their own unique physical and
emotional needs would have been better spent helping to provide the
means, eg. caregiving assistance, by which families and individuals
would continue to live in their own homes surrounded by their own
families and friends.

"Perhaps PBS will see fit to report on this subject in the near future.
Again, thank you very, very much for a wonderful piece on Parkinson's
and its human costs."
