It's great to see the enthusiasm for this project and the ideas
people have already expressed.  I believe we can succeed at this once
someone volunteers to organize the effort, and also take charge of
the long term maintenance of the documnent, and once the question of
where the FAQ will reside is answered.

As people have pointed out, many good materials already exist on the
net, and from that aspect, some of the work has already been done.
It's just a matter of pointing to it.  Should there be a single
starting page containing a master directory with links to existing
and new materials?  If so, how's this as a sketch of a top-level
outline (which I hope someone will improve):
