Group - The European ban on xenotransplantation research is, quite simply, terrible news for all of mankind. In particular, it may represent a significant set- back for those of us who suffer from PD. I believe this decision is based upon fear of the unknown; rather than on solid medical evidence. With thinking like that we never would have found a vaccine for polio, put a man on the moon, etc. As most of you know, I have first-hand experience with a cross-species transplant. I am 1 of the original 12 who have had specially-treated "pig cells" injected into the brain. It is important to note that extensive blood work (performed every 3 months since the operation) continues to indicate that there are no foreign viruses in my system. Jim Finn
