Hi, With reference to your question below,my wife Aliza has the symptoms you describe. She has cardiac insufficiency, hypertension, and PD. The swelling is due to water retention caused by her weak heart valve. She has redness in her feet, ankles and the lower portions of her legs and purple toes which we believe is due to a combination of poor circulation, and a reaction to her Sinemet CR.When rubbed, the color mostly disappears and then reappears.Massage does help. The swelling is treated by wearing elastic stockings, diuretics, and by as much exercise as she can do. Please let us know what you learn. Regards. If so, do you think it could be a side effect of the increase of Mirapex that I started (1.5 mg 3X)? We found that it was not my blood pressure medicine. Blood tests show that my kidneys are operating ok. Any other ideas? Perhaps it will jog my memory of something I've changed that I'm not aware of. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Ruth Clark
