Dear List: REgarding reassesment for social benefits for pd'rs is a giant
waste of time and gov't tax dollars as well as unneeded trauma for the
person. It is very unlikely thst any cure or treatment presently available
would change our work status.
It reminds of an argument I got in with an official with unemployment
innsurance;
I had told a new employee her earnings for a period so she could report it to
them. In her case they took her earnings dollar for dollar off her benefits, so
she was basically working for nothing. Paying a sitter was actually putting
her BEHIND. She came to me virtually in tears holding our pay stub The
gov't had decided her reimbursement of expenses for travel were actually
earninga because they came about as a result of employment.
This poor lady was ready to quit saying she couldn't afford to work! I phoned
the local office nad patiently explained the situation to the clerk. She
stubbornly stuck to her guns. I finally said the gov't cant possibly be
THAT stupid. She said :"Oh yes we can!" nufff said.
