Greetings to all from Roger Naeseth from Sister Bay Wisconsin. I have been diagnosed since 92, first symptoms were tremor on my right leg .while at my sister's funeral, latter my foot would get a prickly feeling. The first neuro I went to said he did not know what I had but it wasn't Parkinsons, he did all the tests plus MRIs. He prescribed Klonopin and Proprandal. I had been doing research myself and thought I had the symptoms of Parkinsons. I joined a support group who said try a new neuro, I did and he confirmed I had Parkinsons. I am 63, retired from IBM in 1956. Initially I took no medication, then tried Artane which seemed to affect my memory, then tried Eldepryl which made my skin feel sensitive plus at that time the appeared some negative articles about the drug. Then Sinement CR was tried which helped somewhat. I then moved from Illinois to Wisconsin and went to a neuro (movement and disorders) Dr Nausieda from St Joesph hospital in Milwaukee. He also is a sleep disorders specialist. He took me off Sinement Cr and put me on Sinement 4 times a day. This helped my stiffness I was now experincing and helped the tremor. The dose is 25/100. I take amantadine 100mg twice a day which also seems to assit the sinement. Also I take 1 Remoran before bed time. Helps some of my sleep problems, I also take a vitamin mixture called NOW, Q10, grape seed extract, algae Vitamin E, fish oil, green tea extract, calcium. Constipation sometimes is a problem, a stool softner twice a day helps, plus I walk 2 miles a day plus plenty of water. One thing I discovered is too much fiber can add to the problem as the stools become more compacted. Oh, I forgot I was taking Tasmar 200mg 3 times daily till I found out doing a search about the liver scare. I was taking Tasmar because the sinement seemed to wear off at the 3 hour mark. I had been on Tasmar about 5 months with no noticable affect. I consider myself lucky because the disease so far is progressing slowly. == _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
