I also understand that NAC (N-acetyl-l-cysteine) has been found to be very
neuro protective in laboratory rats. Its available at GNC.

I have been diagnosed for 11 years. I am 51. For the first two years I
took Permax, Cogentin and Eldepryl. After two years I started Sinimet, kept
the Permax and ditched the Cogentin. I worked as a middle manager in a
specialty steel company for seven years after I was diagnosed. Intense
fatigue was foremost among the symptoms that forced me onto disability.
During the last several years of work, I had extreme difficulty keeping
awake while driving. There were people driving while intoxicated that had
better control of their automobile than I did.

I continue to take Sinimet now and when my drugs are working I am in pretty
good shape. But when they are not, I am not. At about the year nine years
into the disease (7 years after starting Sinimet) I began to experience end
dose wearing off. Gradually at first,
but continually getting worse. This is a degenerative disease. For about
the last year or so, I have had to pay more attention to my diet.
Everyone's disease is different and yet the same.

My personal experience with my employer was extremely positive. Only you
can judge your employment situation but I think that I have heard many more
supportive stories than not from people that have informed their employers.
