A new Young Parkinson's Support Group is forming in Western New York.
The first meeting will be on Saturday, February 20th at 1:00 PM at the
Dent Neurologic Institute, 1630 Maple Road in Williamsville. June van
Remen, a social worker at Dent, will be the group's facilitator.
There has been a need in Western New York for a support group for those
unable to attend weekday meetings, due to work and other commitments.
This group will provide an opportunity for people with PD, their family
members and friends to meet, discuss common concerns, share information,
and get involved in political action. There are no age limits; but the
main focus is expected to be on issues of concern to younger PWP,
depending on the interests of the group.
Those from neighboring communities are also invited to attend. Depending
on where participants live, future meetings could be held in a more
centralized location.
