Gina,
In November I went from 250 pounds to 284 pounds and was hospitalized
(10 pounds in one day). Afte 7 days in the hospital and 9 more with home
health coming here twice a day to do vitals, give IV meds, and take
blood, the doctors still had no idea what was happening. I went from
taking 3 meds a day ( 2 for pd and 1 for depression) to taking 12
different meds per day. It was a nightmare.
The Monday after Thanksgiving I stopped everything. I stopped taking
every one of those pills. My weight went to 301 with my legs swollen so
tight my skin was getting stretched and cracking. I could not breath nor
walk more than 3 feet alone. December was a nightmare.
Now, on Feb 2, my weight is 265 and going down. I can breath again and
walk a little. Yes I am shaking and yes I am freezing, and yes I have
pd problems, BUT, my legs are no longer swollen and I feel much better.
I am not recommending you stop all the meds, but maybe the doctors need
to look not only at what the individual meds are but how they are
interacting with each other. I believe that the Requip began my fluid
weight build up and the rest of the meds just pushed it up.
I am not diabetic (like they said) nor do I have kidney damage (like
they said) nor do I have a liver condition (like they said). But, I do
have PD, and that is all at the moment.
The most amazing part of this is that for a person who has been under a
suicide watch for the last 2 years, I feel less depressed now than ever
in my life. What a change.
Thanks for listening and I hope you will be careful.
Love
Marling
