Dear Alli: My inclination would be to say no- If at all possible get a second opinion about everything going on. I would highly recommend you encourage him to talk about how he feels, and don't let the "mask" keep him from smiling! Even facial exercises might help, but keep his moral up. If he's not on med. now, let him know there are very effective (and many) meds possible, with "miraculous" feeling results to them- so don't let depression be hiding and lurking inside of him- encourage him to keep active and look forward to tomorrow- it is full of beautiful things- even if he can't see them right now. I say all this because I'm a CG for my husband(69) and we've been through the gammit of experience the past twelve years- I hope you will feel like researching medications yourself because with PD the more YOU know the better- your fixing to embark on a real learning experience - There's lots of research sources from the list available ....keep in mind we are all here with you! Marie
