Parkinsn is a high volume list with 50 to 60 messages a day which may be
more than some can easily handle.

There is an option available that will relieve receiving and reading large
volumes of email from the list.

Parkinsn List Online is available around the clock to read and reply or
post to the parkinsn list. Parkinsn List Online is on a webpage at:

http://www.ionet.net/~jcott/parkmail/maillist.html

The messages on this page are ordered so that the newest messages are at
the top and the oldest messages at the bottom in order sent by the listserv.

Clicking on an underlined subject will open the message to read. In the
message window, the senders address is underlined and the parkinsn address
is also underlined.

If you wish to reply to a message directly to the writer, click on their
address. Your mail program will open with the address correctly inserted.
All you need to do is write the reply, pick a subject ie Re: and what ever
their subject was, and send it.

If you wish to send the reply to the list instead of the writer, click on
the parkinsn address and do the same as replying to the writer above.

At the top of the list of messages there is an underlined link with Thread
in the name. Clicking on that will change the page to one that has the
Subjects and the replies threaded (grouped) by subject. The newest received
messages without threads will be at the bottom of this page. If you are
interested in a particular topic of discussion, the thread page will bring
you up to date.

Reading messages is not dependent on being subscribed to parkinsn from any
particular machine or address. Subscription is not required for reading
only. Subscription from particular machines is required for posting to the
list.

If you want to read and post from several places (machines) subscribe each
machine and set the mail option to nomail.

To set the mail option to nomail, send a message from a particular machine to:

[log in to unmask]

In the message put three words:

set parkinsn nomail

You will receive an acknowledgement.

Parkinsn List Online is a sound activated site. You read the messages and I
pick the music. The music is a mechanism to check and update the messages.
The songs are my own arrangements of others works. If they are too loud,
use headphones or your volume controls. If you don't like them, turn your
sound off.
