Howard, you have my sympathy even though I can't offer help. The two conditions you describe are much more rare than the "garden variety" Parkinson's disease that afflicts most of our listmember patients, and consequently much less is known about treatment and prognosis. As I understand it, neither responds well, if at all, to dopamine-enhancement therapy which is the mainstay of PD treatment. Your neurologist must be very good to have spotted those obscure diseases. I think they are often not recognized, and if you are up to it, it would be valuable to all of us if you would keep us informed about the progression of your symptoms.

in my three years on the list
i've only seen maybe 5 genuine dyed-in-the-wool scam / spam artists
any other aliens that i've seen
were simply sufferers of surpluses of bizarre senses of humour / humor
if we respond from our hearts
how can we be 'made' idiots?
if we get taken in by a pro scammer
how can that 'make' us idiots?
if we harden our hearts to all comers
and turn away all the rest as well as the 5 scammers

My thoughts about being made an idiot is that if the info sounds straight about meds. or conditions, a person could be inclined to ask questions of their Dr. I would hate to have our Neuro or optometrist die of laughter from such a situation, or worse yet wast their time on something they weren't sure of.

I noticed that too; it didn't seem to fit the profile of your average schoolboy jerk who thinks a rubber crutch is real funny. That's why my first reply is factual but emotionless. Even after seeing the smart-ass aol profile, I would think: maybe that was long ago, before he got sick, or maybe he's just borrowing somebody else's ISP, as many newcomers do. If I had to judge, I would me much more suspicious of Bill and Leslie's story than of "Howard's", but I always give benefit of the doubt.

Yes, I am married to a lovely lady, who has Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have been diagnosed with CBGD and PSP. It's still scary, in that the Medical staff (except for my friend) is very reluctant to talk with me about it. Perhaps it is a blessing in a curious way. I am getting my estate papers, etc., into a reasonable order, perhaps for the first time ever.
Where did I learn to write like that? Perhaps a buildup of sinemet; you know, Hallucinations....
Incidentally, have you ever been told you have only 2 years to live, when you were looking forward to 20?...Not easy..

Amazing, truly amazing. I'm always reminded about a little thing an ex- college Prof used to say/Each morning we had class, he'd walk in and enunciate "All Indians walk in single file, at least the two I saw did"! The obvious was that he was trying to get us to understand that conclusions made from single observations might not be meaningful.
You and/or Martin might want to contact me directly if I can be of any help in clearing up this "Shroud of Mystery" ! Incidentally, I'm a novice at being a sleuth and am curious as to how Martin was able to match the two documents so quickly! He's a sharp fellow with computers!
