Hi, it's Howard! No, it is no scam. I did not realize that Martin was a Professional Publisher who was simply trying to establish credibility for inclusion of my letter in one or more of his Journals or Books. The frustration factor is high in his business, and I truly do understand, and am honored that my note was even considered. The two conditions you describe are much more rare than the "garden variety" Parkinson's disease that afflicts most of our listmember patients, and consequently much less is known about treatment and prognosis. As I understand it, neither responds well, if at all, to dopamine-enhancement therapy which is the mainstay of PD treatment. Your neurologist must be very good to have spotted those obscure diseases. I think they are often not recognized, and if you are up to it, it would be valuable to all of us if you would keep us informed about the progression of your symptoms. A letter like his would still get my attention and benefit of the doubt, until proven false. What was the point? If it's merely the result of some mentally deranged attempt at humor, that itself deserves some pity. I'm always reminded about a little thing an ex- college Prof used to say/Each morning we had class, he'd walk in and enunciate "All Indians walk in single file, at least the two I saw did"! You and/or Martin might want to contact me directly if I can be of any help in clearing up this "Shroud of Mystery" !
