Dr. Phillip Starr is doing a deep brain stimulation surgery of the subthalmic nucleus or globus pallidus at UCSF in San Francisco. 10 patients will be randomized to each of the sites under an FDA approved protocol. Patients undergo detailed testing before and after the surgery to scientifically validate the results. My wife Joan is scheduled for March 23. I will keep you posted.
