Do not give up yet.  One cannot exclude a diagnosis of "normal
pressure hydrocephalus" without a cisternogram (a lumbar puncture
followed by injection of radioisotope into the spinal fluid followed
by a series of scans over several days).  The "multiple stroke
syndrome" has no satisfactory treatment, hydrocephalus does.
