This two-page article takes Benadid across continents from Grenoble, France to Minneapolis,Minnesota where he collaborated with Meditronic and a biological engineer, Mark Rise, to produce Activa. The article describes how Activa , a deep brain stimulator, has been developed to control symptoms of Parkinson's, and is being considered as beneficial in the treatment of some mental disorders.
