CALL FOR PAPERS The Medieval and Renaissance Drama Society will sponsor two sessions at MLA in Chicago 1999. In addition to Bob Clark's session on The Representation of Jews on the Medieval and Early Modern Stage mentioned in a recent note, there is another session on Carnival. Here is the official call: Carnival and Popular Culture in Medieval Drama. Comparative papers welcome, especially those that link early cultural festivals with contemporary carnivals throughout the world. Interdisciplinary and miltimedia presentations are encouraged.
