For "Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month" to be successful in NJ I need to ask
all NJ residents to write a very brief note to their STATE Representatives.
Marge Tuchman had sent a post asking for list members to contact her for the
names and addresses of who to write to and we have not gotten the necessary
response from list members for a successful vote in Trenton.

We only have until March 14th for this effort. We desperately need the
publicity "Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month" will generate.

Please contact Marge at [log in to unmask] She's already looked
up all the names and addresses for every legislative district in NJ so you
don't even have to go to any web sites.
Thanks, Barbara

Dear Senator/Assemblyman (woman) ?:

A very important resolution, SJR-53 sponsored by Senators Joseph
Kyrillos and Anthony Bucco, has been proposed for introduction
declaring the month of April as Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month. I
ask you to request this resolution be posted on the next Senate Health
Committee agenda. The committee is scheduled to meet on March 14,
1999.

I [my husband/wife/parent, etc] suffer from Parkinson's disease, a
progressive neurological disorder that destroys brain cells
controlling motor functions. Eventually it leaves its victims unable
to walk, to talk, even to move. Available treatment only partially
alleviates the symptoms of stiffness, tremor and slowness of movement.
The medication that is available often has toxic side effects.

There is NO cure.

Please give SJR-53 the attention and recognition it deserves.
