Dear Marie, Dystonia plagues me also. If I take enough Sinemet to take care of my stiffness ect, then it (the Sinemet) induces dystonia. My Dr. says only Xanax (or something similar) will reduce the pain. Painkillers won't (and they haven't for me). Here's the problem. Dystonia results from both too little Simemet and also too much. I unsally have to endure the dystonia pain when first taking sinemet, until the sinemet begins to wear off. PD Q&A by Smithkline says on p82, "It may respond to more sustained dopaminergic stimulation as provided by dopamine agonists or levodopa/carbidopa CR." You may want to get on the mailing list of the Dystonia Medical Research Fdn. (I have). They have some good material. phone: 312-755-0198 email: [log in to unmask] Good luck, Walter Marie Hollywood wrote: > > i need information on dystonia and any recommendations anyone might have. > thank you. > marie > > ____________________________________________________________________ > More than just email--Get your FREE Netscape WebMail account today at http://home.netscape.com/netcenter/mail
