For the 2) question...
I had a kitten that acted just as my father. The cat had tremors & "stared" at
us. When we took him to the vet, we were told that "something" was wrong with
its brain causing the kitty to be that way. I don't think it was like
epileptic seizures cause he shook nearly the whole time while he was awake.
The kitty did not survive but I think that was mostly because he wouldn't eat.
