Just a thought.  I read in the latest issue of Modern Maturity (the one
with Bert and Me) the article about Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner doing the

2000 Year Old Man in the Year 2000.  At the end of the interview, Mel
Brooks comments on the fact that you should never put pineapple on
Jell-O because pineapple melts protein and it is good to eat pineapple
after a meal of meat or chicken.  I was wondering if this is true and if

it is, would that not be a good thought for those who experience a
sensitivity to protein?  I have always heard that you should never put
pineapple or other really acidic fruit like grapefruit and kiwi fruit in

Jell-O.  I never knew exactly why.  I might be crazy here, but just
thought it was worth mentioning.
