I have misplaced the post about constipation and my response about
lactulose.
According to the reference below, lactulose is a disaccharide, meaning
that it is a single chemical which is NOT hydrolyzed in the system and
not digested.  That means that it should be quite safe for diabetics,
and is till a very effective laxative.
