Hi All,
I went to see a movement disorder specialist, she has taken me of the Sinemet drug. I was on that and Parlodel. I am now on Requip. My doc said that I should try to live with the PD with as little meds as possible. I will be working up the Requip from .75 mg a day to 3 mg a day over a four week period. I am not the normal PD type of person I was told. I started with falling for no reason the legs would just not go. I started with tremors in the right arm over a year and half ago. They are not small one at times it is hard to feed myself and I use my left hand, for I am a right hand person. I end up with pain in my right shoulder from my arm shaking so bad. I know that a wheelchair is in my further. That has been a hard pill to swallow. I tell my friends no way just give me some gloves and knee pads and I will do fine.
I was wondering if some of you that are in wheelchairs would mind letting me know how long you had PD before you had to go into the chair. I would just like to know what I am facing. I can handle it better. I am not trying to sound morbid, I just want to know as much as possible. I have tremors in my right leg also at times.
When I am very tired or have push myself to far my right leg is happy to just drag on the floor, I have a lot of tile floors so with socks on that is very easy to do. Thanks for listening, and a big thanks for Barb who has been there through out the last three weeks. She is a very funny lady and has put a smile on my heart more that once. And a great tummy laugh also. I am very glad for this list. I glean more that I give. Love you all and thanks again Janice 51/50/46
