Karen - You are NOT alone - I have learned that in the past 10 months. My
name is Linda. and I was diagnosed 10 months ago. I am 50 now, 49 when I
heard those words, "You have Parkinson's Disease." As you can probably
tell, I am working through this myself. The ironic thing, 6 months before
diagnosis, I had said to my husband, "Well, I'm past the age for M.S.,
now I pray I don''t get Parkinson's Disease." I am a nurse, and work with
some P.D. people. But between my God and all the great people I've met
through this wonderful machine, I will and am coping. Sure, I have fears,
but as with any situation one might face, these are able to be faced. My
kids are adults, so I can't give you any suggestions about your child
except to tell you to love her.Check out any support groups there might
be in your area - if you are the only young person, don't give up. We
need young blood in our groups to get up and be an advocate for P.D.
Education is the word - to our family, friends ,and general public. I'm
here if you need to talk, rant and rave, cry, or laugh.God's blessings be
on us all. Linda
