People with Parkinson's disease have greater risk of developing pneumonia due to a tendency toward shallow breathing. I learned from my local newspaper today that there is a vaccine that prevents most types of bacterial pneumonia, and I assume that if I hadn't known of this before, perhaps there are others who stil don't know about it. One shot provides immunization for life for many people, while occasional boosters may be needed for others. It's covered by Medicare Part B.
