To solve the container conundrum for Pennies for Parkinson's, many ideas are being hatched. Here's one: boxes like the ones used for "Chinese take-out" made of very sturdy paper. They are around 4in by 4in, closing at the top with overlapping flaps, a built-in slot that's OK for all coins and with a metal handle. There's no text on them, nothing saying "with 6 you get eggroll"... Here in Los Angeles they can be found in plain bright colors at import stores such as Cost Plus and possibly in large drugstores. The top flaps can be folded in so that there's an actual slot. I bought them in spring green (representing money and hope and a maybe some naivete). The Sticker Planet stores here had good supplies (until we bought them out) of cheerful red tulips on green stems. With a label from Bill Turenne and some tulips slapped on a couple of sides, they look quite fine. Now it's up to you engineers on the List to calulate how many pennies they can hold before they start to break apart! Mary Yost, diagnosed 1990, not normally oriented towards Martha-Stewart-ism.
