John, Ivan and the rest of the group. My name is Lawson Hunter, I'm a Pubic
Relations consultant and I wish to respond to your sense of frustration over
the lack of coverage on this very important subject. Take heart, I know
from my contacts in the media that the 'buzz' you have created over PD is
overwhelming. You have been heard. The difficulty is that there are many,
many worthwhile groups and messages competing for the same air time and
column space. (Imagine being an editor and getting hundreds of requests
every day!) It may not seem like much, but to have media respond - even if
just to say 'we'll get to it when we can' is an accomplishment. At the same
time many stories have been written - it is very difficult to keep track of
them all. Believe me when I tell you that no 'good' story goes away, be
patient, reporters and editors will use this information at some time, if
they haven't already. It's too valuable to be tossed out. To wrap things
up - if I handed any of my clients the list of contacts that this group has
made (without a high-falootin' PR company to drive it) they would be
delerious with joy. Keep up the good work - PWP owe you all a great deal of
gratitude for your efforts. Lawson.
