NOW THAT IS WHAT MAKES ME MAD!

Sorry Gerry, nothing personal, but you obviously dont know the facts. Why
should you?
When my husband died, we were living on welfare. He left a small insurance
policy, in trust for his children. the income was sufficient t bounce me out
of welfare, bounce out of Medicare, but not high enough to be able to get
medical insurance. We do however qualify fr a county fund for indigents -
where we go to a public clinic. I tried today to get an appointment for my
son who woke up this morning with an obvious flu _ 1st appointment available
in June. (by appointment only ) They dont cover hospital fees , and they
dont treat things that need an emergency room like heart attacks , or
accidents etc. But up till now they did pay for my medications. Now suddenly,
without warning, they are only paying a small percentage
- on sinemet cr and mirapex, my share was 287 dollars; they did pay the rest.
BUt I was used to paying $10 a prescription. When you take into account that
as the girls went into foster care, they took their social security checks
with them (bereavement benefits) and now Jed is turning 18 in a few days, so
he loses his - my entire monthly income is $306.00!!!!
I have an application in for medicaid because the balance of my finances has
changed so radically - but that takes time to process. And in the meantime,
suddenly, and without warning, like a bolt from the blue, i find that ny
co-payment has increased so incredibly !
So it is not as if i have been playing grasshopper, its just that the ants
turned out to be army ants (eating everyone and everything on their path).

hilary
