Dear Listfolk, In this morning's Atlanta Constitution, there is a huge article about experimental surgeries. It is the lead article on page 1, topping news of prisoner releases, Littleton and everything else. Then it continues on all of page 10 and half of p.11. The article explores the ethics and legalities, which vary by state, of experimental surgery. Two sections discuss neurosurgery, one about the Georgia Gamma Knife and another about Dr. Iacona's expertise in pallidotomies. There is even a picture of Dr. Iacona. The article doesn't recommend or make judgements, although it does start out with a horror story of a woman who suffered from somewhat experimental surgery for endometriosis. Perhaps one of our expert Net miners could find and lift the neurosurgery parts out for the list. The newspaper's Web site is AJC.com. Jane Koenig Marietta, GA
