I'm amazed at the number of listmembers who responded! PD affects vision in several ways, e.g., color and contrast perception, but the most common seems to be loss of autonomic "convergence". This is where your depth perception comes from. For both eyes to aim at the same object, they must turn slightly to an angle that depends on the object's distance, greater when the object is closer. Normally, your brain uses this info to let you sense how far the object is. In PD, control of those "convergence" muscles gets weak and you begin to see double. More often, say if you are reading, you may find yourself using only one eye. By conscious refocusing you may compensate for that, until it becomes a habit like blinking. Exercising the eye muscles seems to help. Cheers, Joe -- J. R. Bruman (818) 789-3694 3527 Cody Road Sherman Oaks, CA 91403-5013
