Alan,
This is indeed fascinating. I've been keenly aware of the interaction of my
blood sugar with the various medications. Correlation, if any was not
readily obvious, but I had become aware of the Med/protein thing, before I
saw it on here. I always feel MUCH better after a good meal. And, while I
have not been diagnosed as a diabetic, (hyperglycemia), my father and all of
his siblings were diabetics. My tiger has been Hypoglycemia, which has
caused MUCH nerve damage over the years. Sensation and motor control was
lost in my legs and arms/hands several times, and my body weight fluctuated
as much as much as 100 lb. in 6 months.(130 to 230) In fact when tremors and
weakness in left side began, I assumed that it was starting all over
again--definitely food for thought. You've got me curiously interested now
as what factual correlation there might be.

Could a single GENE, if mutated, shut down the dopamine to adrenaline
pathway, and cause a variety of different diseases, including PD or
diabetes? Could this explain why there seem to be many more diabetics
within the families of PWP's than usual?
