The quick answer is : Neither of these !! Sinemet CR tablets use a
slow-disolving matrix to hold the important levodopa. If you break the
tablet, you expose two additional surfaces, so the two halves, if taken
together will dissolve more quickly than the original tablet. (at a rough
guess,  about 10%-20% faster.

The effect on the PWP is probably contrary to the desired effect, because
the object is to release the levodopa  at a comtrolled  rate. The faster
the release rate, the nearer to an overdose or diskynesia conditin.  Of
course, it depends a lot on how old you are, how long you have had PD, etc
as to whether you do get diskinesias
