Ivan: Your posting about two murders in Augusta caught my attention. As you know, I live in Augusta and this never caught my attention. For list members knowledge, Augusta is the state capitol , with a population of about 22,000. It has been 8 to 10 weeks since there has been snow on the ground , so the dumpster incident was some time ago. Maine is an enlightened state with a very vigilant state attorney general's office. If the local police were hiding something, the attorney general would be all over them. Some friends of mine had a daughter raped & murdered 20 years ago 25 miles north of here. She left a eight year old daughter who was raised and put through college by her grandparents. DNA evidence has brought a suspect back from the south by vigilant state police. The trial is ongoing and the 80 year old grandparents and the 28 year old daughter are attending the trial and being witnesses. Maine has it's share of cruelties , but we should be comfortable with our outstanding law enforcement bodies. I will inquire from my contacts and let you know the official status.
