Local Support Group members will hold a Rally for the Parkinson's Power Across America athletes on Friday, May 21st between 3:30PM and 4:30 PM at the King's supermarket on Morris Avenue in Short Hills, New Jersey. If you are in the area come show your support for the six young men and women who are biking, hiking and kayaking across the U.S. from May through September for Parkinson's. Call 908 701 9800 for updates on the location and route of the trekkers on Friday. At about 9:45 Matt Drayton and his team of athletes will be honored by Mayor Brett Shundler with commendations at City Hall in Jersey City. They will then ride to Newark and pose at Muhammad Ali Avenue! In the afternoon the trip continues through Irvington, Maplewood, Millburn and Short Hills. The Millburn police will escort the cyclists into the King's parking lot. The location will be easy to spot because the 37 foot long Parkinson's Power Across America motorhome with it's colorful signs will be there. You can't miss the motorhome as long as you go to the BACK of the parking lot. Refreshments will be served. From there it's on to Chatham, Green Village, Harding Township, Mendham, Chester, Califon, Lebanon, Washington, Franklin and Phillipsburg. Crossing 65 miles of the most densely populated state in America in one day should be quite a feat so let's give them all the support we can.
