HI Wanda , Terry, Pat, Ida, Brian and other folks... My thermostat problem is composed of 2 sets of symptoms. One is due to PD itself, I think. That is hypothermia -- I am too cold, very, very quickly. Even in the warm weather, I may need extra clothing, may have to tighten both ankle and wrist openings of clothing with rubber bands, and wear gloves. Indoors, when in an off-state, I often have to use heated, microwaved socks, filled with uncooked rice, as flexible heating pads, and so on. I have to be vigilant about not exposing my hands or legs and feet to cool drafts. This PD-caused hypothermia is ALWAYS associated with muscle rigidity and pain. My second thermostat problem is DEFINITELY medication-related. When my combined medications "kick in," I sometimes burst into sweat. Yes, this is embarassing and uncomfortable. Yes, it can be very awkward, and frustrating, especially after spending up to 20 minutes getting dressed with assistance. I am not sure yet if the cause of the sweating is Selegiline Hydrochloride (Eldepryl) or Selegiline combined with Carbidopa/Levodopa 25/100 (Sinemet). Moreover, I get two types of swears--one across the back of my head and neck, the other, more like a hot flash, throughout my head, neck, chest and back. Have any of you tried to figure out which medicine causes you to sweat? Or whehter your sweating is associated with the "kick-in" time for your medicines?
