Bob, most of the cartridges can be refilled at home with a kit and ink that they sell in most places that sell the original factory filled carts. It can be a big saving, IF you take care not to drip the ink on anything of value,. I also saw a system that keeps the head and adds a liner that is prefilled. I don't know if that is available for all printers. Ken B
