Dear List-family...

I find myself agreeing (sort of... read on) with this one, 'cause
I believe the List-mail has gotten out of hand as it tends to do
periodically. But this is easily correctable IF we're all
willing to join together in a spirit of cooperation.

This type of problem needs to be addressed a coupla-three times a
year, it seems. We go off on tangents and forget to change the
"subject " which makes it tough to follow specific threads. We
also DO tend to not know when enough's enough in carrying what
starts off to be a whimsical/humorous thread and DO tend to
verbally beat this kinda subject to death (as in the current
"Parkinson's Pigs" topic).

Also, many of our newer List members are unaware that it's
customary for us to PRIVATELY respond to messages which are SENT
to us via private email. There's also been a tendency lately for
some of our newer List-members to conduct an entire PRIVATE (as in
it's of no particular interest to anyone but whom you're writing
to) conversation PUBLICLY on the List, rather than privately via
personal email.

Because of all that, recent List-mail HAS been mounting up higher
and higher each day AND in my opinion, IS getting cluttered with
continuous non-relevant-to-most-List-members messages.

To those who have serious medical needs that need attention, this
kind recent of "bulk non-PD chatter" has GOT to be frustrating.
To some other members, it's just plain boring.... BUT - there IS
an easy remedy! It's called the DELETE KEY!

Provided the writer has accurately described their message in the
SUBJECT LINE, all we have to do to rapidly eliminate unwanted or
unrelavent List-mail is to take a swipe at that delete key and
WHOOOOSHH.... the offending message is shot into Cyberspace
(Errrr... until someone who was on vacation for three weeks and
FORGOT to set the NOMAIL feature picks up the thread once again
from the 5945 List-messages awaiting 'em upon their return from
vacation) <grin>

Soooo.... dear friends and List-members, please identify your
List-messages correctly on the Subject line of each message,
delete those messages you don't care to read, and keep private
email messages PRIVATE, and there'll be a less messages to deal
with and those that remain should be more tailored to your
personal needs.

Barb Mallut (who's become an intrepid deleter!)
