Hi Gilles,

Welcome to the group and unfortunately to the PWP fraternity as well. I presume,
but obviously cannot be certain.

With your recent diagnosis that low dose may be helpful then again it may not
be.  I likely would be suggesting an agonist rather than Sinemet especially
after the diagnosis is made firmly, but you doctor may have his reasons for
starting the Sinemet.

If your doctor is not a movement disorder specialist (as opposed to a general
neurologist of family practitioner)  I would suggest at least consulting with
one.  (I always suggest this since it is difficult for a generalist to keep up
with the advances in PD research.).

Sorry I can't be more definite at this point.
