Dear Will thank you so much for replying to Bruce. I have had a similar problem, but didn't even know enough about the PET Scan to know what to ask, or what it had told me. Bruce, I was diagnosed in Nov 1998. When my neuro did a video of off and on meds (and kept me on Mirapex and pain meds), he decided I was too "well" while "off" to have pd; this was despite the fact that sinemet works great, and me telling him that I was not in a true off when we started. The upshot of all of it was that I was very discouraged to have received yet another "wrong" diagnosis, and very confused about why the meds work so well, if I don't have Parkinson's. My PET scan showed abnormal activity in the brain, and since the meds are working I am assuming I have pd, pd plus, or something very similar (and I am looking for a new neuro as well). Despite all this, I still had some major questions myself which your reply answered. Once again, thank you bob at [log in to unmask]
