Dear List members.

My apologies. The following poem has nothing to do with PD. I wrote it in
response to the sad events at Columbine high school.

I am moved to post it after reading the forwarded message "A father speaks "

Dennis.

Peace

Look into the heart of the rose;
complexity folds upon complexity;
layer after layer the perfect petals hold
more layers of perfect petals.
Look into the heart of the rose, and know
that when complexity unfolds
it will reveal the simplicity of the petal.

Look into the heart of a man;
Complexity folds upon complexity
layer after layer of mundane thinking hides
the thoughts which lit the lives
of Beethoven, Mohammed,  da Vinci.
Mother Theresa and Einstein shine
at the core of human experience.

Look again at the heart of the man
Complexity folds upon complexity;
layer after layer of reasoned thinking hides
the thoughts which lit the fires
of Hiroshima, Auschwitz and Dresden.
Port Arthur and Lockerbie burn
at the core of human experience.

Look into the heart of "Peace".
On every petal colour flows; yellow
to white to pink (all that is left of rose);
and who can show where yellow ends
and pink or white begins. Look into
the heart of peace and know;
the simplicity of petals is illusion.
