Friends,

I am with Janet on this one. While Chinese medicine including acupuncture
may have a lot to teach us including acupuncture I look at the Red Flags on
this one and get greatly concerned about deliberate fraud as opposed to
honest trial of Acupuncture as a treatment. The Flags include: 1. A
carefully worded statement saying that while they can't say that they have
cured anyone because people are still in treatment etc... implying that they
might well have cured people they just can't say it for legal reasons. 2.
You can't talk to people who had the procedure for privacy reasons (I have
been on both ends of that- both as the "talkee" and the "talker" regarding
surgery, and in any case can you imagine that anyone with this damned
disease would not want to tell the world about a cure or some significant
relief they received). and 3. They refuse to answer their telephone because
they are "too busy" (I presume they are sniffing out the "perspective
customers" for Feds or some such thing.

Again while I have some skepticism about acupuncture, I am for anything
that works but as proven by scientific method. I however have very strong
reservations about this or any other clinic when they promote themselves in
this manner.

BTW that also goes for the Parkinson's Center in suburban Chicago which is
promoting a pseudo medical treatment in my opinion- (growth hormone etc)
