Actually, as I see it, the various treatments I've had, I.e, the
pallidotomy, the collagen injections into the vocal cords, and the
plastic surgery to repair facial muscle damage caused by the PD
(which was basically a face-lift with special attention paid to
reconstructing the right side's muscle structure so the right side
<which had a visible "droop," and left side would once look and
act in concert and be visibly "normal." in appearance.

These, along with the not-yet-done surgery to insert that tiny
thingee into my vocal cords are all surgeries or procedures which
have been around for a great many years.   It's just that they
either weren't used successfully for PWPs (for whatever reason)
till the last five or eight years.

I prolly just shot my "state of the art" image down, but I don't
want to fly under false colors.   I have a modicum of personal
courage but not THAT much! <rueful grin>
